The most popular Whatsapp, which is owned by Facebook is now going to work on your computers soon. However, we all know that it is a most popular as smartphones's messaging app. Which works on SIM card for authentication & makes it as mobile only product is now might be changing soon according to the report of Androidworld.nl
The main question is how Whatsapp will handle the authentication as it uses SIM card instead of Facebook login.
As whatsAPI team reported that you may login in to your account on web using OAuth. They will send a web client sms to your SIM which will easily allow you to accept it from your phone. Once you accept it, then you can use the app on the PC. You may be access through this web address https://web.whatsapp.com which is now currently requests a google account to log in.
